Terms of service
Last updated September 22, 2026
These terms apply when you use the Custom Suit Co. website, create an account, buy a made-to-measure suit for yourself, or buy or claim a suit as a gift. By placing an order or claiming a gift, you agree to them. We've tried to write them in plain English. If anything is unclear, please ask our support team before you order.
1. Your account
- You need an account to order, claim a gift, give measurements, finalize an order and request support.
- Please give accurate details and keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- For your security, we may temporarily lock an account after several failed sign-in attempts.
- You must be at least 18 to create an account and place an order. A gift recipient under 18 claims their gift with a parent or guardian, who creates the account. We don't collect photos of anyone under 18.
- We may suspend accounts that are used for fraud or to misuse the site.
2. Orders, prices and payment
- The price of a suit depends on the fabric tier you choose: Essential $500. A matching vest is $150 extra. Prices shown at checkout are the prices that apply to your order.
- Measurement and our fit review are included in the price. There is no separate fitting or measurement fee.
- You pay the full price at checkout.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- We may change prices on the website at any time, but a change never affects an order you've already paid for.
- If we can't accept an order (for example, a fabric becomes unavailable before you pay), we'll tell you and won't charge you. If a fabric runs out after you've paid, we'll help you choose a replacement in the same price tier.
3. Measurements
After checkout, you choose how you'd like to be measured:
- With a partner tailor, where one is available near you. The tailor takes your measurements (and, with your consent, photos) and records them in your account.
- At home, with a helper or on your own, using the guided steps in your account. You take the measurements we ask for, and we estimate the rest from your answers. Our team confirms the estimates before your suit is cut.
If you measure at home, please take your measurements as instructed and answer our questions accurately. Measure at the body points shown, enter exactly what the tape says, and ask someone to help if you can. Our fit review catches many mistakes, but it relies on the measurements, answers and photos you give us.
With your consent, we collect photos from the neck down so our team can check your fit. How we handle them is explained in our Fit photos and body data policy.
Suits are made from the measurements approved in our fit review. Changes to your body after that (such as weight changes) aren't something we can account for.
4. Reviewing and finalizing your order
- Before you finalize, you can review and change your style details and update your measurements in your account. If you received a gift, you can also switch to another fabric in the same price tier.
- When everything looks right, you press Finalize. Your order then goes to our team for review, and you can't change it during the review unless we reopen it.
- Please check your delivery address before you finalize, too.
5. Fit review before your suit is cut
- A person on our team reviews every order before it goes into production. We aim to finish the review within 1 business day of you finalizing, but this is a target, not a guarantee.
- The person reviewing your order may: approve it; correct a small inconsistency, but only if you chose to allow that, in which case we email you what changed; ask you to re-measure specific measurements, in which case we reopen your order until you send it back; or contact you to talk it through.
- Your order waits in review until any request is resolved, and the delivery estimate starts once your fit is approved.
- Once your fit is approved, your order is locked. Your design, fabric and measurements can't be changed after that, because your suit goes into production.
6. Production and delivery
- Your suit is made by one of our suit makers from your design and the measurements approved in our fit review.
- We aim to deliver your suit about 4 weeks after your fit is approved (currently 28 days). Your account shows an estimated delivery date once your fit is approved.
- Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Shipping delays, fabric shortages and events outside our control can affect timing. If you need your suit by a particular date, get measured and finalize early, and leave extra time for the fit review, any re-measuring and delivery.
- We ship to the address in your order. Please make sure someone can receive the package. Once a package is marked delivered to that address, it's your responsibility, but contact support right away if you can't find it.
7. Gifts and gift codes
- Anyone with an account can buy a suit as a gift. The buyer pays the full price at checkout.
- We either email a gift code to the recipient or give the buyer a printable gift card, as the buyer chooses. The buyer can see the gift code in their account.
- Treat a gift code like cash. Anyone who has the code can claim the gift. Please keep it private until you give it to the recipient.
- The recipient claims the gift with the code, creates their own account, chooses their final style details within the same price tier, gets measured and finalizes. These terms then apply to the recipient as well.
- Measurements and fit photos belong to the recipient. The buyer can follow the gift's progress but can't see the recipient's measurements or photos.
- Gift codes can't be exchanged for cash, and the no refunds or returns policy below applies to gifts too.
8. No refunds or returns
Every suit is cut and sewn for one person from their own measurements, so it can't be resold. Made-to-measure orders are final and can't be refunded, returned or exchanged. That covers gift orders, orders you decide against before finalizing, and orders you never finalize at all: once you have paid, the payment is not refundable. This doesn't limit any rights you have under the law that can't be waived, and it doesn't change what's described in “Fit problems after delivery” and “Other issues and remedies” below.
The one exception is a late shipment. If we can't ship within the promised time, we'll tell you, and you can accept the new date or cancel for a full refund.
9. Fit problems after delivery
We don't guarantee a perfect fit, and we don't offer a fit scheme of any kind. A made-to-measure suit is cut from numbers, and no measurement, review or adjustment can promise a perfect result. What we do is this: a person on our team checks your measurements before your suit is cut, and after it arrives we ask you how it fits and a person reads your answer. Here's how that works:
- Send a fit check first. Complete the fit check in your account any time after delivery, and before any alterations by anyone other than a tailor we arrange. The fit check asks how each area fits and for photos from the neck down. Our team usually replies within 1–2 business days.
- We tell you what we can do. After reading your fit check, we tell you what we think is wrong and what we suggest. That is usually an adjustment at a local tailor (a partner tailor where we have one near you). Whether we arrange that adjustment, whether we put anything toward the cost, and how much, is decided case by case and agreed with you before any work starts. Nothing here is automatic, and we don't promise an amount.
- Repairs and remakes are at our discretion. If a piece can't be put right with an adjustment (for example, shoulder width or the rise of the trousers), we may remake that piece. We decide whether to adjust, repair, remake or do none of these, after reviewing your fit check.
- What isn't covered: changes to your body after your fit was approved; style choices that were made as you ordered them; normal wear, damage after delivery, or cleaning; and alterations by anyone other than a tailor we arrange. We'll still do our best to help.
- None of this is a guarantee, a refund, a return or an exchange, and none of it is included in the price as an entitlement.
10. Other issues and remedies
If something else isn't right, open a support request from your account. Our team usually replies within 1 business day.
- Maker errors. If your suit wasn't made to your design and the measurements approved in our fit review, we may fix it or remake the affected piece, at our discretion.
- Damage in transit. Tell us as soon as you can after delivery, with photos of the suit and packaging, and we'll work with you on a repair or replacement.
- We may ask for photos, or ask you to visit a partner tailor or another tailor we arrange, so we can understand the issue.
To the extent the law allows, an adjustment, repair or remake — each at our discretion — is the only remedy we offer for a suit, and our total responsibility for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.
11. Partner tailors and suit makers
- Partner tailors are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Custom Suit Co. We choose them carefully, but they run their own shops and are responsible for their own premises and conduct.
- Partner tailors aren't available everywhere. Where no partner tailor is near you, you can measure at home with our guided steps.
- The people on our team who check your measurements work for us or with us, and review orders before they're cut.
- Your suit is made by an independent suit maker that we work with. We receive and review your finished order before it's delivered. Suit makers receive your measurements, posture grades and fit notes, never your photos.
- We share only the order information each partner needs to do their part. See our privacy policy for details.
12. Pictures of cloth and color
Cloth pictures are Vitale Barberis Canonico's own swatch photographs, used as placeholders until we photograph our own cloth. Our suit pictures lay that photograph onto a real photograph of a suit, and the style details are our own drawings. No screen shows a color exactly, so treat what you see as close rather than exact. Small variations in finished cloth are normal, and we don't list fiber content until our suppliers confirm it. If you'd like to see and feel a cloth first, ask our support team for a physical swatch before you order.
13. General
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order (or claim a gift) applies to that order. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Questions about these terms? Open a support request from your account, or visit Help & support, or email noidal1000@gmail.com.
