Privacy policy
Last updated September 22, 2026
This policy explains what information Custom Suit Co. collects when you use our website, order a suit, claim a gift, or apply to be a partner tailor, and how we use and protect it. We only collect what we need to make and deliver your suit and to look after you. We do not sell your personal information.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and a securely scrambled version of your password. We never store your password itself.
- Order details: your suit design and fabric choices, delivery address, order history and the status of your order.
- Body measurements and fit details: the measurements you enter yourself or that a partner tailor records for you, your height and weight (used only to estimate sizes), the sizes you usually buy, body shape and posture answers, fit preferences, measurements of clothes you own, and fit check answers after delivery. See Fit photos and body data.
- Fit photos: with your consent, photos from the neck down taken while measuring or for your fit check, plus a record of that consent. We don't collect photos of anyone under 18.
- Appointment details: if you choose a partner tailor, your ZIP code, the days and times you prefer, and any notes you add.
- Gift details: if you buy a gift, the recipient's name, their email address (if you ask us to email them) and your personal message.
- Support conversations: the messages and details you send in support requests.
- Payment confirmation: card payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid and the amount, but never your full card number.
- Partner tailor applications: business and contact details, shop address, service areas, experience and availability.
- How you found us: if you arrive from an ad or a referral link, the campaign details in that link (such as the ad name).
- Basic technical information: such as your browser type and pages visited, which our hosting provider records to keep the site running and secure.
2. How we use it
- To create and secure your account, and to let you sign in.
- To take payment, make your suit to your design and measurements, and deliver it.
- To match you with a partner tailor near you, where available, and arrange your appointment.
- To review every order before it's cut, and contact you if a measurement needs another look.
- To handle your fit check after delivery and arrange any adjustment or remake we agree to.
- To send gift codes, order updates, password resets and replies to support requests. These messages are about your order, not marketing.
- To handle fit issues and other support requests.
- To pay partner tailors and suit makers, keep business records, and prevent fraud.
- To understand which advertising brings customers to us.
3. Who we share it with
We share only what each organization needs to do its part:
- Partner tailors (independent businesses): if you choose to be measured by one, they receive your name, contact details, appointment details, order and design details, and the measurements and photos they take. They never see photos you take yourself. A tailor may also make a fit adjustment we arrange.
- Suit makers: receive your design, fabric, measurements, posture grades and fit notes so they can make your suit, and a delivery name and address when they ship it. Suit makers never receive your photos.
- Stripe: processes card payments. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
- Netlify: hosts our website and stores our data.
- Our email provider: sends account, order, gift and support emails on our behalf.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): if our advertising pixel is turned on, Meta receives information about visits to our site to help us measure our ads. See “Cookies and advertising” below.
- When required: we may share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
4. Gift buyers and recipients
- When you buy a gift, you give us the recipient's name and, if you choose email delivery, their email address. We use these only to deliver the gift and help them claim it. Please only share them if you believe the recipient would be happy for you to.
- The buyer can see the gift code and follow the gift's progress, such as when it's claimed and shipped.
- The buyer can't see the recipient's measurements or photos. Measurements are private to the person wearing the suit, the partner tailor who measured them, the suit maker and our team. Photos are never shown to a gift buyer.
5. Fit photos and body data
Photos and body measurements are personal, so we handle them with extra care. In short:
- Numbers entered before paying stay on your device until you check out.
- Photos are from the neck down, cropped on your own device before they're uploaded, and only uploaded after the person in them agrees.
- The people on our team who check your measurements, and our administrators, can see photos. A partner tailor can see only the photos a partner tailor took. Photos are never shown to suit makers or gift buyers, and never sent by email.
- We don't use face recognition, body scanning or health scores, and we don't send photos to outside services for analysis.
- Photos are kept in private storage, opened only through short-lived links, and views by our team are logged.
- Photos are deleted automatically after delivery, as described in the policy below. Measurements stay with your account until you delete it or ask us to delete them.
The full details, including how long we keep photos, are in our Fit photos and body data policy.
6. Fit review before your suit is cut
Every order is checked by a person on our team before it goes to the suit maker. The people who check orders work for us or with us, and see only what they need to review your fit: your name and contact details, your design, measurements, the answers you gave while measuring, your photos, and notes from you or your partner tailor. They may correct a small inconsistency (if you allowed it, and we email you what changed), ask you to re-measure, or contact you. We keep a record of every change they make and why.
7. Cookies and advertising
- Sign-in cookie: keeps you signed in to your account. The site can't work without it.
- Ad source cookie: if you arrive from an ad or referral link, we remember the campaign details for up to 90 days so we know which ads work.
- Advertising pixel: when turned on, the Meta pixel measures visits from our ads and may be used to show our ads to people who have visited our site.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie, you won't be able to sign in.
8. How long we keep it
We keep account, order and measurement records for as long as your account is open and for as long as we need them afterward for support, tax and accounting records, or to resolve disputes. Your measurements stay in your account so you can reorder easily. You can ask us to delete them at any time (see “Your choices”).
Fit photos are the exception: they're deleted automatically after delivery, on the schedule in our Fit photos and body data policy, or sooner if you ask.
9. Keeping it safe
- Our site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, and accounts are temporarily locked after repeated failed sign-in attempts.
- People only see the information their role needs. For example, a partner tailor sees only the customers they measure.
- Fit photos are kept in private storage with no public links, can only be opened through links that expire after a few minutes, and each view by our team is logged.
- No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will tell you if a problem affects you.
10. Your choices
- You can view and update your account details and measurements (before you finalize) in your account.
- You can ask us to delete your fit photos sooner, or withdraw your photo consent, through a support request.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. We may need to keep some records, such as order and payment records, where the law requires.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We'll honor them.
- Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. We don't collect photos of anyone under 18.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll let account holders know about important changes.
