Fit photos and body data

To make a suit that fits, we need information about the body of the person who will wear it. This policy explains what fit photos and body data Custom Suit Co. collects, why, who can see it, how we protect it and when we delete it. It adds detail to our privacy policy, which covers everything else.

1. What we collect

• Fit photos. Three photos from the neck down (front, side and back) when you get measured, either taken by you at home or by a partner tailor at your appointment. After delivery, your fit check asks for photos of you wearing the suit, also from the neck down.
• Measurements. The body measurements you or a partner tailor take, any repeat readings, the numbers we estimate for measurements you don't take, and measurements of clothes you already own.
• Height and weight. Used only to estimate your sizes and to spot numbers that look off. We also ask the sizes you usually buy and whether your weight may change before you wear the suit.
• Body shape and posture answers. Your answers to picture questions such as how your shoulders slope or how you stand, and your fit preferences.
• Our team's notes. Posture grades, any corrections our team makes and the reason for each, and notes from your fit review.
• Fit check answers. How each area of the suit fits, an overall score and any notes you add.
• Age confirmation and consent. Whether the person being measured is 18 or older, and a record of photo consent: who agreed, when, and which version of the wording they agreed to.

2. Why we collect it

• To check your fit before your suit is cut. A person on our team compares your numbers with each other, with your answers and with your photos, confirms the numbers we estimated, and contacts you if something needs to be measured again.
• To tell the suit maker how to cut your suit. The maker receives your measurements, posture grades and fit notes, never your photos.
• To fix the fit after delivery under our terms say about fit, using your fit check.
• To make your next order easier. We keep your measurements and any fit adjustments with your account, so a reorder starts from what we learned.

3. What we never do

• We don't use face recognition or face detection, and we don't map body points or scan your body from photos.
• We don't calculate BMI, body fat or any health score, and we don't use weight for anything except estimating sizes.
• We don't send photos to other companies or outside services for analysis.
• We don't sell photos or body data, or use them for advertising.
• We don't send photos by email or put them on public links.

4. Who can see it

Fit photos can be seen by:

• the people on our team who review orders for us, and our administrators;
• you, the person in the photos, in your account;
• a partner tailor who measures you, but only the photos a partner tailor took at your appointment. Tailors never see photos you take yourself.

Fit photos are never shown to the suit maker or to anyone who bought your suit as a gift, and they're never sent by email.

Measurements and other body data can be seen by you, the people on our team who review orders, our administrators, the partner tailor who measures you, and the suit maker (measurements, posture grades and fit notes only, so they can make your suit). A gift buyer never sees the recipient's measurements.

Our hosting provider stores this information on our behalf. We may also share information if the law requires it, as explained in our privacy policy.

5. How it's stored and protected

• Cropped before upload. Our upload step asks you to crop out everything above your chin, and it does this on your own phone or computer, so the uncropped photo isn't sent to us. The photo is also re-saved without hidden details such as the location where it was taken, and we remove those details again when it arrives.
• Private storage. Photos are kept in private storage with no public web address.
• Short-lived viewing links. A photo can only be opened by someone signed in who is allowed to see it, through a link made for that person that stops working after a few minutes.
• Views are logged. Each time someone on our team, including an administrator, opens a photo, we record who viewed it and when.
• Access by role. People only see the information their role needs, as described above.

6. How long we keep it

• Fit photos are deleted automatically 90 days after your suit is delivered, or when any fit case closes, whichever is later — or sooner if you ask. A fit case closes when our team has finished looking into your fit check (you can send one any time after delivery).
• If an order is cancelled before delivery, its photos are deleted 30 days after it's cancelled.
• Sooner, if you ask. Open a support request and we'll delete your photos. If you ask before your suit is cut, our team may need to confirm your fit another way, such as a short call. While you're still measuring, you can also replace or remove your own photos in your account.
• Measurements and other body data are kept with your account until you delete your account or ask us to delete them, so your next suit can start from them. We may keep order records we're required to keep by law, such as payment and tax records.

7. People under 18

• We don't collect photos of anyone under 18. We ask whether the person being measured is 18 or older, and a partner tailor confirms it in person.
• Someone under 18 is measured by a partner tailor, where available, or at home with a parent or guardian helping, who confirms that they're helping.

8. Your consent

Before any photo is uploaded, the person in the photos must agree. At home, that's a checkbox you tick yourself. At a partner tailor appointment, the tailor confirms that you agreed and that you're 18 or older before uploading. This is the wording you agree to:

“I agree that Custom Suit Co. may store the neck-down photos I upload so its team can check my posture and measurements. Only its team and site administrators can see them (plus a partner tailor, for photos the tailor takes) — never the suit maker or a gift buyer, and they are never sent by email. They are deleted automatically 90 days after my suit is delivered or when any fit case closes, whichever is later — or sooner if I ask. Checking this box is my electronic signature.”

We record the version you agreed to. If we change the wording, we'll ask again before any new photos are uploaded. You can withdraw your consent at any time through a support request. We'll delete your photos, and our team will check your fit another way.

9. Your choices and questions

• You can see your measurements in your account.
• You can ask us for a copy of your body data, to correct it, or to delete it.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We'll honor them.
